SC: Denying bail when custody not needed is intellectual dishonesty

The Supreme Court on Monday expressed anguish over trial court judges denying bail plea of accused in cases where custody is not needed and termed it as "intellectual dishonesty" while expressing its reluctance to recall its order passed against a Lucknow judge for denying bail in violation of the apex court's guidelines.
